Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Keep Coming Back ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website and application (the "Service"), available at https://keepcomingback.app.

Our approach is simple: we collect as little as possible, we do not sell your data, and we do not use the Service to advertise to you or to refer you to paid treatment services. The core meeting-finding features are free and do not require an account.

The Short Version

Your Location

When you allow location access, your device's location is used only on your device to center the map and calculate distances to nearby meetings. Your location is not sent to us or to any third party, is not stored, and is not logged. It exists only during your session and is discarded when you close the Service. If you decline location access, the Service centers on a default location instead.

Information Stored on Your Device

To make the Service easier to use, your recent place or address searches are stored locally on your own device (in your browser's local storage). This information stays on your device, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's settings.

Place and Address Search

When you search for a place or address, the text you type is sent from your browser directly to Nominatim, a geocoding service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, in order to return matching locations. Only the text of your search is sent, along with a contact email address that Nominatim requires from applications that use it. No account, identifier, or location of yours is attached to these searches.

Map Tiles

The map images ("tiles") are served by a third-party map tile provider. Like all online maps, loading map tiles necessarily reveals your device's IP address and the geographic area you are viewing to the tile provider, because the provider must know which tiles to send. We do not control and do not receive this information.

Directions

If you tap "Directions," the Service opens Google Maps in a new tab with the destination meeting's location, so you can navigate there using your own device's mapping app. This hands the destination address to Google as part of opening the map. We do not send Google any information about you.

Contributions and Payments

If you choose to make a voluntary contribution to support the Service, payment is processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. To complete a contribution, you provide payment information directly to Stripe, which may include your name, email address, billing information, payment card details, and IP address. Stripe processes this information under its own privacy policy (available at https://stripe.com/privacy). We receive limited confirmation and contact details necessary to acknowledge your contribution and keep basic records; we do not receive or store your full payment card number. We use contribution-related information only to process and acknowledge your contribution and for our own financial record-keeping. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Hosting and Server Logs

The Service is delivered as static files through a third-party hosting and content-delivery provider. As part of standard operation, our hosting provider may automatically log technical information such as IP addresses and requested files. This is standard for virtually all websites. We do not use this information to identify or track individual users.

Information We Do Not Collect

At this time, the Service does not:

If we introduce any of these in the future (for example, privacy-respecting analytics, a feedback form, the ability to save meetings or preferences, or user accounts), we will update this Privacy Policy first, clearly describe what is collected and why, keep collection to the minimum necessary, and continue our commitment never to sell your data or use it for treatment-referral advertising.

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended to help people find recovery meetings, and people of many ages seek recovery. The Service does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you make a contribution, the payment processor's services are intended for users who are able to enter into a payment transaction. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through a contribution, contact us and we will address it.

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third parties that receive information do so to provide the Service's core functions, as described above: the geocoding provider (your search text), the map tile and hosting providers (your IP address, as a technical necessity), and our payment processor (your contribution details, only if you contribute). We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.

Your Choices

Data Security

We design the Service to minimize the data that exists in the first place: your location stays on your device, and we operate no user-account database. Information you provide to our payment processor is handled under that processor's security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but collecting almost nothing is our primary protection.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the Service. Changes are effective when posted.
